We visited on a Friday night and were concerned we would have a long wait - nope - we arrived just after 8pm and were offered our immediate choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Oddly enough, after a few drinks and some time spent there….you don’t realize you’re shouting! There’s a mix crowd: the young and middle-aged, the body and face beautiful and the unfortunate but they all come to this watering hole and focus on what’s important at that moment - socializing! Let the games begin! So, if you go, be prepared to shout in your conversations. The only drawback (and it’s not a drawback for some) is that it is VERY loud in the bar area. The calamari are never tough - they are always tender and sweet and the Fritters are perfection! I’m lucky enough to usually get Jameson as the bartender - this dude is not only excellent as a mixologist but he even remembers your name! How cool is that - especially with a full house? The ambiance is quite nice because there are windows everywhere and you can look out and in. The drinks and appetizers are only $5 each and let me tell you - they are ALL excellent! I usually get the house Melbec (and it’s good!) I add several appetizers: Crispy, Sweet and spicy Calamari Blue crab and shrimp Fritters and spinach, Parmesan and artichoke dip. There’s plenty of free parking in the garage around the corner and if you call in advance - you can get advance seating at the bar to guarantee your spot! The Happy Hour is from 3-6p. There’s the bar area and there’s also outside seating in addition to the restaurant. I’m back with another one of my no nonsense shoot straight from the hip reviews! This time I went to a happy hour with my hospital colleagues at the Costal Flats in Gaithersburg, MD.
